"It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it."
- Seneca
On the Shortness of Life
Seneca challenges the common complaint that life is too short by suggesting the real problem is how we use the time we have. Most people waste enormous amounts of time on trivial pursuits, meaningless activities, or passive consumption while claiming they don't have enough time for what matters. When we eliminate time-wasters and focus on what's truly important, we discover that life provides ample opportunity for meaningful achievement and deep satisfaction. The issue isn't life's brevity but our poor time management and unclear priorities. Quality of time matters more than quantity.
