"Loss is nothing else but change, and change is Nature's delight."
- Marcus Aurelius
Meditations
Marcus reframes loss as a natural transformation rather than a tragedy, removing much of its emotional sting. What we experience as loss - relationships ending, loved ones departing, youth fading, circumstances changing - is simply the universe expressing its fundamental nature of constant transformation. Instead of fighting this natural process, we can align ourselves with it and even find beauty in it. Nature delights in change because it enables growth, renewal, and evolution. By accepting change as natural rather than seeing it as disruption, we reduce our resistance and suffering. This doesn't minimize the reality of grief but places it within a larger context that can provide comfort and understanding.
