"Loss is nothing else but change, and change is Nature's delight."
- Marcus Aurelius
Meditations
Marcus reframes loss from a catastrophe to a natural process, removing much of its emotional sting. What we experience as loss - the ending of relationships, departure of loved ones, fading of youth, change of circumstances - is simply the universe expressing its fundamental nature of constant transformation. By aligning our perspective with this natural order rather than fighting against it, we can find peace even in painful transitions. This doesn't minimize the reality of grief, but places it within a larger cosmic context that can provide comfort and understanding.
