Stoic Concept
Preferred Indifferents
Things that are neither good nor bad but naturally preferred.
While virtue is the only true good and vice the only true evil, some externals are 'preferred indifferents' - things like health, wealth, and reputation that are naturally preferred but don't determine our happiness. We can pursue them rationally but shouldn't be disturbed if we don't obtain them or if we lose them.
